The Weakness or The Vocation of The Human Being? Teoretical and Practical Reception of The Illness in The Frame of The Religiosity in The High Middle Ages

Abstract

The medieval reception of the illness and the weakness of a human body is investigated through the hagiography sources. The inquiry of the causes and the explanation of the simple existence of the illness focusses not only on the experienced practice, but on the teological concept and on the religious point of view.
